IU Bloomington’s commitment to health sciences

Today's rapid growth of health science research and education at Indiana University is the culmination of IU initiatives over the past two decades, including the Bicentennial Strategic Plan. A Bloomington campus Health Sciences team was assembled in 2014 that identified strategies to achieve excellence in:

  • Discovery and scholarly activities
  • Learning
  • The delivery of clinical and health-related services
  • A culture of community engagement, collaboration, and mutual support through the creation and facilitation of networks, physical and virtual, and other collaborative resources among the health sciences

The work of his team led to the development of the creation of the Vice Provost of Graduate Education and Health Sciences, as well as the Health Sciences Council, which is chaired by the Vice Provost.
